Hoover CH30000 LOVE IT.
Bought this vac to replace the previous one bought over 15 years ago. Loved it so much had to get the identical one.
It is light and powerful and would buy another one if it is still available when this one breaks down.

I had been using an Oreck for small vacuum jobs. My housekeeper noted that it wasn't really suctioning. I then went online to read reviews and saw that many others agreed. I then began researching what would be a good one. This one got great reviews. The reviews were correct. This is an excellent machine, with super suction power, a very long cord, and many great attachments.

Hoover CH30000 VERY WELL.
This vacuum worked out great. I was looking for something lightweight and powerful to clean my hardwood floors both upstairs and down. I was going to order a separate shoulder strap for it, but was glad I didn't because the one provided works very well.

Very good suction, Well designed to carry with the straps for someone who likes to move around fast, nice long cord, easy to empty, one of the very best vacuums for an irregular surface tile floor.
Gliches involve the accessories and are minor: The largest carpet/floor attachment is not very good for carpets, the brush on it makes it hard to slide over carpet and the angle is such that anyone taller than about 5'6" has to bend way over to angle it right. Also the duster extension has very short, overly stiff bristles.
The hard floor attachment is, however, very good!
Anyone know where I can get other attachments that will fit this unit?

I read all the reviews. I'd bought an Electrolux floor sweeper that had NO power
and it cost me over $100.
I was unsure about this so I contacted the seller, Hugo's, with some questions;
their manager was great; he gave me the information I needed very quickly. When
I found out that I had 30 days to try it out and make sure it worked the way it
said on Amazon, I bought it. I love the vacuum - it's well made, works great
and is easier to tote around than our large canister vacuum.
Like others mentioned, I would love a longer hose but that's the only thing I'd
change about it. I did find out that if I put it on the floor anchored behind
a chair, the hose will stretch a lot. Otherwise I carry it crosswise over my
shoulders. The parts fit together well and easily, and they've very good quality.
I do like the cloth bag - to keep buying paper bags was getting expensive on the
canister vacuum. And the plus is that when I accidentally vacuumed a puzzle piece,
I just opened the vacuum and took out the piece.
It's much better on wood floors than carpets, but that's mainly what I have. And
it is really great picking up dog hair. I can't believe how much suction it has.
I just wish I'd bought this before I spent the same amount on the Electrolux that
went out in the trash 6 months ago.

I purchased the PortaPower Lightweight Vacuum to mainly clean my stairs, it works excellent for this application. You can also wiz around hardwood floors with little effort. Plenty of suction and excellent on pet hair.

I received my vacuum today and just finished vacuuming my whole house. Overall, a very nice product. It's lightweight and the cord is nicely very long. I (a 5' 6" 125 pound 50+ female) wore the unit on my shoulder with the provided strap with absolutely no problem (so I'm glad I didn't pay $16 for the extra "buy them together" carrying case). I have both hardwood and very low pile carpet (looped wool, and beater brushes are not allowed); the same brush worked well on both. It also worked well on a long, hand knotted wool area runner. Crevice tool and other attachments are nice; everything fits together well. I was amazed at how full the bag (which you empty and re-use) was afterwards. I recommend this as a very (very) good product. Why not excellent? The on/off switch felt a little cheap and the biggest brush did not slide perfectly ... but I would buy this again, absolutely. It's the main vacuum in my 4 bedroom house.
